MOTHER OF THE YEAR

We went to First Christian Church in West Frankfort every Sunday, both Sunday School and Worship Service. Mother's Day of 1959 brought quite a surprise to Mom. They were going to announce the Mother of the Year and lo and behold it was Mom. We were all unaware of an entry into the contest -- except Sharon. She had written the entry that won Mom the title and a corsage. Sharon would have only been in Jr. High in that picture but look how much taller she is than Mom already. Following is what Dad wrote on the back of the picture followed by Sharon's entry.
